Liposuction
Liposuction is a method of selective fat removal performed by plastic surgeons. Small areas of persistent fat can be removed through liposuction to help you slim down and improve your overall body shape.
Treatment Areas With Liposuction
Almost any body area that exhibits excess fat can be treated with liposuction. Some of the most common areas include the tummy, back, thighs, flanks, buttocks, neck, and chest.
How Does It Work?
Liposuction requires very small incisions near the areas targeted for fat removal. The fat is then saturated with a tumescent liquid that contains an anesthetic, allowing more precise, and more comfortable fat removal. Dr. Leff uses a small tube called a cannula to loosen the fat and remove it with suction.
Is Liposuction Safe?
If you choose a board certified plastic surgeon for your liposuction, safety will be the highest priority. There are risks associated with liposuction, but Dr. Leff takes the precautions necessary to minimize them. For example, the amount of fat removed during your procedure will be limited to a safe amount, anesthesia will be administered properly, and our caring staff will closely monitor your recovery. Patients should have an adequate understanding of the risks and benefits of liposuction before proceeding with the surgery.
